“Children Grow. Women Produce. Some Men Go Work. And Some Go Steal. Everyone’s Got To Make A Living.”

Fewer words of absolute truth have seldom been spoken. It’s entirely true: everyone’s got to make a living, one way or another.

Most of us have 9 to 5’s. Even homeless people pickup cans and cash in bottles. Stay at home Moms have the toughest gig of all. Chicks on welfare in the hood do hair and sell crabs.[1] Folks in the mountains slang OxyContin. Even a lazy assed dude who mooches off women has to expend energy charming these young ladies into helping him stay cozy and unemployed.

It is emphatically true. Everyone’s got to make a living.

But is your job just a way to get paid, or is something larger? Is your job something you really enjoy doing? Does it benefit society? Does your job fulfill some inner need? Is it more than just work, and if not, does it even need to be?

The folks at ABC News apparently just discovered we’re in a recession. Now, seemingly each episode of the newsmag 20/20 focuses on some aspect of how folks are faring in this economy. There was Diane Sawyer’s ridonculous special on Appalachia, John Stossel’s Libertarian infomercial, and now, just when you thought the show couldn’t get more absurd, this example of Extreme Caucasian Craziness.

Before cable television, a politician’s fibs could take a few years to catch up with him/her. In the age of instant replay and You Tube, we have seen the media expose a lie quicker than you can change the channel. “Hang’em high” mobs are already planning replacement parties for Senator Dodd (D-CT) and Treasury Secretary Geithner. The fallout from the AIG bailout has left many not trusting any words uttered by our elected officials.

Senator Dodd outright denied having anything to do with the changing of the bill regarding AIG executive compensations. He was the first to go on record regarding the matter. Before he could reach for his Grecian Formula, CNN and other media outlets were researching to find out who changed the provisions in the bill that allowed bonuses to executives who were responsible for the derivative mess in the first place. Derivatives are generally used as an instrument to hedge risk, but can also be used for speculative purposes. AIG took unnecessary risks and did whole lot of speculating.

So I was chatting with the ePosse on Gmail the other night when PBG decides she wanted to ruin my night by sending me a link. I click on it and was immediately appalled at the foolishness I witnessed. It’s a site called Baby Bangs! Hair Band.

Yes, this is actually, the website’s description of the product. I did a screenshot to capture it.

Before I even talk about the product itself, I’m outraged by this mess of a description. What in the multi-font, colorful heck is this? There are no less than 5 fonts used in the 17-word description. WHY? And all them colors. PLUS the blatant disregard for the use of capitalization is really upsetting me. “LiTTLe” just about offended me to pieces! And “Ready2Wear”. REALLY? Who’s 9-year old tweenager was allowed to do this? WHO? Shouldn’t she be at a Hannah Montana concert, instead of doing design for a website? iCan’t. And if its a grown person that did this, for SHAME!
