Painting by Elizabeth Peyton. Story and image from Michelle Obama Watch (By the way, good job, MOW. You rocked the whole election. And now you can watch her with me for four-to-eight more years.)
I noticed Malia gets short-handed at times. I think she’s adorable and is turning into a beauty in her own right. When Prince William was a boy, he was considered cutier than his brother, Harry. Now I think the roles are reversed.
I have no problem with the painting itself. It’s beautiful, but it is missing something . . . “Malia”! Young girls are impressionable and finding their way, and this is not what needs to be seen. Michelle is the proud mother of two beautiful girls – not just one! Let’s hope that the artist will make this a set and her next piece will be “Michelle and Malia”!
Stunning painting–strikes all the right notes about our new First Lady… interested, attentive, larger-than-life, strong, a mom. Beautiful!
I wish that people would include Malia as well in the photos and paintings. I don’t like the idea of leaving the shy child out. shelly
