  1. If you have to explain it then you probably shouldn’t say it.This is a bad joke and his arguments are flawed and full of intellectual BS trying to get it mixed up with freedom of speech and satire. Satire is the exaggeration of facts, not the blowing up of stereotypes. Then to couch it by saying we are going to show how stupid it is just read inside. That’s like me saying all the bad things about you. All the stereotypes and then saying but he’s a nice guy. Just give him a try. It’s flawed logic. This will go down as being racist whether they intended it or not.

  2. I agree with freemanpress, this is not satire. The New Yorker anticipated the kind of response the cover has evoke. It’s blatant racism no matter how you look at it.

  3. I agree with freemanpress. The c over is blatantly racist and an accurate depiction of America’s fear of everything non-white.

  4. I’m just not seeing a problem with this and I am Black. It’s the New Yorker and it’s satire. As I said to a co-worker who wanted to be ofended for me, “If you’re not sure of the context as it applies, perhaps you should look it up.”I ran right out and bought a copy, because I think it’s fantastic.Nothing is sacred as long as it’s funny.Any minute now, Rule 34 of the Internets will come into play.
