The First Lady's Bangs Are Now White House Portrait Official! (Flickr)

First Lady Michelle Obama (Click to enlarge)The often imitated, never duplicated First Lady Michelle Obama has a new White House portrait. Recently she said she cut herself some bangs because that's as wild as she's getting with the mid-life crisis she's having this term. At first I was all, "I dunno about these bangs, Miz O." But after the inauguration I was like, "BANGS! BANGS! BANGS!" Heck, even I want some bangs. Do you know they sell "clip-in" bangs? CLIP-INS! It's the first time I've ever wanted to add hair to my head. Besides, I made a promise to myself to never cut my hair again, so clip-ins are a way I can get some of that bang action without chopping the front of my homegrown wig.

But enough about me ... more about bangs.

BANGS!

Hey, It's the White House Easter Egg Roll (Photo)

Photo via The Fab Empire:

The White House Easter Egg Roll, a 134-year-old tradition started by President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1878, kicked off early today at the first residence.

The Voice’s Rachel Crow sang the National Anthem right before President Barack Obamaand Michelle Obama addressed the crowd. The president went down to help kiddies with their rolls and later played on the court with the Harlem Globe Trotters.

Conservatives Coming for Your Mom's Favorite Rappers, Poets

CONTROVERSY! The co-star of "Just Wright" and one of the stars of "Why Did I Get Married" parts one and deux are crazy radicals who hate the police and black men who date white women! And First Lady Michelle Obama is an unrepentant fan as she invited the two, amongst many others, to recite poetry at the White House.

Obama Freshening Up Ye Old White House Staff

With former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel running for mayor of Chicago and Senior advisor David Axelrod leaving Washington to get a jump start on the 2012 re-election campaign, President Barack Obama is doing some hiring and moving around some staff. Who's moving around? Possibly current Press Secy. Robert Gibbs. Word on the street is current deputy press secy. Bill Burton might be up for the job. But they also might go for someone more seasoned in the ways of press wrangling. One of the few things I enjoyed about the Bush Administration was its sometimes random, sometimes bizarre, sometimes brilliant but almost always interesting choices for press secretary. From ol' scapegoat Scott McClellan (who later became a Bush whistle blower then an Obama supporter) to spirited broadcast veteran Tony Snow to oh-my-god-what-did-she-just-say Dana Perino. Oh. And that other guy. Fun times. (CNN)

NAACP, White House, Pundits, et al, Get "Snookered" By FOX News

Yet all they did was end up with egg on their face. It was Shirley Sherrod who lost her job, was blasted as a racist online and on TV and was used as a political football between the Right Wing and the NAACP. Yesterday was just another day in knee jerk, reactionary 24-hour-news cycle. Where your career can end due to some poorly edited tape.

General McChrystal Dines On Foot in Rolling Stone Interview

General Stanley McChrystal, our man in Afghanistan, gave a little interview to Rolling Stone where he got rather critical of the Obama Administration. (He's since told Secy. Gates that he feels all kinds of sorry.) This wouldn't be a big deal if, you know? He'd resigned first, then decided to mock Vice President Joe Biden and the lot, but this is the military and our whole system is based on a military that is beholding to the civilian government  -- even when they don't agree with them. Which is why we didn't bomb Cuba during the missile crisis and why went to war twice in Iraq -- once with a huge army and coalition and again with a much, much smaller one. Because civilian government, for better or worse, made these decisions as our elected representatives. If they didn't, we'd be living under a military junta. I don't like the idea of living under a military junta, so I prefer my generals to keep their quibbles with the brass and White House in house and not on the pages of ye old Rolling Stone.

But, cat's out of bag. And maybe it's not so bad! Let's see what he had to say, shall we?
