Google Stalking Carlos Watson: Yup, He's Canceled (Update)

My peeps at Mediaite tracked down an MSNBC rep and got the scoop. While Carlos Watson will remain part of the staff his show is "no mas."

Mediaite has learned that Carlos Watson, anchor of MSNBC’s 11 a.m. weekday show, “Live with Carlos Watson,” will no longer be anchoring that hour on the network. An MSNBC spokesperson confirmed the rumor, which we learned via Mediaite columnist Danielle Belton on her website, The Black Snob. MSNBC spokesperson Alana Russo said that yes, Watson’s hour had been canceled, but that he will remain a contributor with MSNBC. She also said that there is no replacement scheduled for the 11 a.m. slot, which will be covered by the MSNBC dayside anchor team.

I'm hearing murmurs from sources that Carlos Watson's 11 a.m. MSNBC show might be no more! What's the haps? Anyone else hearing this? Will do some digging to see if that's true.

Carlos is also behind the Web site The Stimulist. If this story is true this is a major bummer. First my Uncle Rolly Rolls gets no show from CNN (but luckily Roland Martin will be getting his own shot at a political news gig on TV One this fall), and now this! What's it gotta take for a person of color, black or otherwise to get and keep a news show on the air?

The delicious Carlos Watson is under fire from all sides for his "is socialist becoming the new N-word" comments from earlier this week. (We need to come up with a nickname for this man, Snob-friends. Reeses Peanut Butter Cup of the TV News is taken.) He tried to clarify his statements (and back them up) Thursday on his site, The Stimulist.

Google Stalking TJ Holmes: Cartoon-Style

TJ Holmes and Jai HusbandJai Husband, creator of Kasha and the Zulu King, was delightful enough to share this clip of the Prince of West Memphis, Mr. TJ Holmes doing voice over work for part of Husband's animated film, an Atlanta University Center Feature Animation Project. (Which has just been picked up by BET, btw).

This a rough clip of the film, which is still being worked on by Husband, et al. In it, my little Reese's Peanut Butter Cup of the TV News plays Lusafo, the leader of a group of village bullies. Lusafo is "shaking down" Kasha, "an amaZulu boy who was sold into slavery in Ottoman Egypt and has returned to the land of this birth."

The film is set to be completed in 2010.

Google Stalking TJ Holmes' ... And Don Lemon's Hair

Some folks on Facebook are not liking my no-longer future husband TJ Holmes and Don "Always Sweet, Neva Sour" Lemon's shortly sheered haircuts. Seriously. They're pretty. Who is checking for their hair (or lack there of)? Besides, Tony Harris has enough hair for everyone. Still, somebody wants to know, wassup wit da no hair?
