You've got Basketball Wives, Basketball Wives LA, Basketball Bullies and Basketball Occasional Sex Partners, Love & Hip Hop, Mob Wives, Real Housewives who aren't wives and don't stay at home, and now Hollywood Wives, a new reality show that's like that film "The First Wives Club," full of the celebrity spouses time forgot.

Clutch Magazine: Two Ex-Wives Don't Make the Third One Right, Newt

For Clutch Magazine this week I tackle the complicated path the third wife of Newt Gingrich must walk. Last week, Gingrich's second wife spoke to ABC News about how she got dealt dirty by former Speaker of the House... just like his first wife. And the story of Gingrich's past loves is a series of other women becoming "Mrs. Other Woman." But can you cry victim in a relationship (as Marianne, wife No. 2 has done), when you knew he abandoned his first wife after she got cancer? Can wife No. 3 Callista Gingrich ever feel secure when she's married to an impulsive serial adulterer?

Steve Harvey's Ex-Wife Is Sick Of You Talking About That Damn Book

Apparently the straw that broke Mary Harvey's back was when Steve "Buy My Book Because Your Love Life Sucks" Harvey wound up on the cover of Essence Magazine. She was the ex-wife, you know. The one Steve left for his current wife. And Steve has been married three times, so there is at least one more Inception deep level of angry black woman in his past who hasn't fired up a YouTube account yet and started blasting him for being a hypocrite. What did the woman scorned have to say? Well, there was about 25 minutes worth of it, and it would have made Effie White proud.

UPDATE: Aaaaand now Mary's being sued by Harvey's current wife. Nice. Stay classy all you Harveys.

The Mysteries of Marriage

There were once two very different women. One woman was known for her charm and sweetness. Old people loved her. Children loved her. She could cook. She was a neat freak. She was patient and affectionate. She always dressed and smelled nice. She was educated and had no children. The other woman, while also lovely, had a foul temper, was judgmental, yelled a lot, was not beloved by old people or children, was such a terrible cook that you'd think health services would shut her kitchen down and was unrefined. She cursed a lot and had a child from another relationship.

Both of these women found husbands who loved them. Both. A man wondered how, why anyone would ever marry the second woman and I told him unless you're in the marriage you just don't know.

There is a lot of head-scratching going on over the end of Al and Tipper Gore's marriage. Many people are comparing it to the turbulent marriage of Bill and Hillary Clinton. After all, no one excepted the super affectionate Gores to break up before the volatile and calculating Clintons. But, let's be honest? Why are we surprised? No one knows what goes on in a marriage but the two people in it.
