It's World AIDS Day, Celebrities to Die Digital Deaths

To honor World AIDS Day celebrities like Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Serena Williams and Justin Timberlake are ending their "digital lives" until 1 million dollars is raised for Keep a Child Alive (KCA), an organization which provides critical anti-retroviral medication for children and their families affected by HIV/AIDS. If you can't afford to die an artful death for a worthy cause and give up your Twitter feed, you can simply do your part to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS by working to end the stigma of getting tested regularly. The easiest way to do this is to get tested regularly yourself and encourage others to do the same. Also, volunteering at a local clinic wouldn't be to shabby either.

While statistically, new HIV cases have stabilized in some communities, it still remains high among African Americans, and is especially deadly to black American women.

Segregated Gossip (Or Why Only Black People Will Ask About Mashonda)

Image from Page Six via GawkerR&B singer Alicia Keys married producer Swizz Beatz this weekend and gossip column Page Six covered it with blissful excitement. In an article titled "Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz make beautiful music," The New York Post article describes the dress (Vera Wang) and how spiritualist Deepak Chopra officiated. But as anyone who follows black gossip sites and blogs there is a giant, grumpy 800 lbs gorilla in the room named "infidelity" and "controversy" and "scandal" and "divorce" and "outside chidlren." But you won't see any of that in Page Six, or any major media outlet because in the world of gossip, not all black gossip is equal.

Somebody Else's Guy

Producer Swizz Beats recently admitted that he is in a relationship with singer Alicia Keys, confirming the rumor for many that Keys is behind the break up of his marriage to singer/songwriter Mashonda. While this celebrity soap opera is fun to gawk at, this scenario is all too real for the army of the dumped and disrespected and brings us back to the age old question: Can someone actually break up your marriage or was it already broken for a new person to show up in the first place?

Who Doesn't Want to Be Michelle Obama?

First Tyra! Not you too, Alicia Keys!

Alicia Keys is taking on the role of the first lady of fashion.

The singer posed as Michelle Obama alongside look-alikes of first daughters Sasha and Malia for a Glamour magazine photo shoot.

"She has worked hard for everything she's accomplished, and done so with grace and humility. So many women and girls can identify with her story," Alicia said of the first lady.

In the photograph, Alicia is wearing a blue Carolina Herrera dress, a black Michael Kors belt, Miriam Haskell necklace and black Christian Louboutin shoes.

Glamour magazine's 70th Anniversary/American Icons issue hits newsstands March 10.

Also, notice out Glamour "magically" was able to find two Sasha and Malia stand-ins despite cute black girls being some kind of endangered species.
