The Snob Is Probably Moving to NYC In Two Weeks

As the most loyal Snob readers have probably noticed -- man, I haven't written much original Snob content lately. But there's a reason for that. Some of it is because of my duties for Clutch Magazine Online. Some of it is because I've been doing a lot more writing for other sites like theGrio and Madame Noire lately. Some of it is because I'm doing a lot of freelance work and consulting for entertainment writers and aspiring authors. Some of it is because I've been spending a lot of time helping out my sister and her infant son (Did I mention I became an aunt this summer?), trying to get my parents to eat healthy, going "hard" in the gym and trying to stop walking like a tiny hunchback.

But another culprit that's keeping me from updating the blog daily is I have accepted a gig in New York that will likely be "official" in the next week or two. And that gig threatens to make my posting on The Snob even less. But you might get to see me on TV more possibly sooo ... I dunno. Is that better? Needless to say, I'm crazy busy and it's a good busy, but I love this site and don't want it to go into the lurch. So what I'm going to try to do is write shorter posts -- promos of other articles I've written, my take on random political news of the day, etc. -- mixed in with longer pieces, like the aformentioned P90Sex Party post I wrote for today.

Will I be able to keep it all up working full-time again? I dunno. I'll give it my best though! Stay tuned to find out why I'm moving to New York! (Also, if you've got some scoop on a place looking to rent soon, I'm interested.)

Congratulations on your new gig. You seem to be one of the hardest working writers out there. Good luck with everything.

i can't remember the real story for Lena Horne going to Hollywood but to paraphrase NYC chose you. You gotta go
The only caution I have for you is bring your support network w/ you. NYC can be a very lonely place for the harried professional.

Congrats on the move and the new position! I have loved reading your blog over the last few years and I hope you'll still be able to post here from time to time.

Is it true Madame Noire is owned by Bossip which is affiliated with WSHH? I just can't. *kanye shrug*

@ AJ

Madame Noire, Atlanta Post and Bossip are all owned by Moguldom Media. I don't know who owns WSHH. I always assumed it was backed by some drug dealer who needed a legitimate business to funnel money through. lol
