Hey guys! As you may have noticed I've haven't blogged in a bit. It's not that I don't care about you or the blog (as I deeply do), but I'm still working for T. J. Holmes' show, BET's "Don't Sleep," and when all you do is write all day and work on putting together a TV show, you don't have too many brain cells left over to rub together and work on the blog. So the blog isn't dead, it's just on a hiatus until the OMG HOLY HELL GOTTA KEEP THIS SHOW GOING panic button.
But I knew I needed to say something because folks who aren't in my inner circle are sending emails and tweets like WHERE ARE YOU? And they get back crickets because the answer is almost always "not here."
This was our Chicago gun violence show. It was crazy to pull all the elements together, but the result was pretty remarkable:
So unlike other times when I didn't post, I have not fallen into a deep, dark ass-end hole of depression to never emerge again. I'm just insanely busy, stressed and with little downtime. (I'm also moody and homesick, but that's neither here nor there.) It all boils down to me being wonderfully, all-consumingly, nutso busy.
I still write at Clutch Magazine Online when I can find the leftover brain cells.
So ... um, I did notice that Obama was re-elected. I even hosted the post-election Michelle O Brunch group in NYC. And I did follow that crazy Patreaus scandal. I somehow wound up at a RZA concert. (It's no less random than that GZA concert I fell into thanks to a friend.) Did you see me there? I was exhausted and with that tall ass guy I'm always with because he thinks we're related or best friends or something. (It's true. We are.)
I also made it home to St. Louis Thanksgiving to stare at a baby who happens to be my nephew. I think I might have seen my parents and sisters there too, but there was a baby, y'all.
Hopefully, come 2013, I'll be able to relaunch and refocus and get back to updating. But for now ... SORRY! Love you guys!
