The Mooch and the Mistress
The comedy that exists during this GOP “Hunt for the most American candidate” is one of the reasons I tune in to Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, The Chris Matthews Show, Meet the Press (“Be Depressed” since Tim Russert passed away) and The McLaughlin Group every Sunday. I can’t wait to see how the GOP spins the faulty planning and execution of their party week after week. I must say, it is actually entertaining to say the least. Summarizing how President Obama is at the root of all our failures has actually elevated his stature in their efforts to shut him down. It is as if he (Obama) continues to rise from the ashes to claim victory each week. The GOP tries to run a trap in all four corners of the court, and the President uses a pick set by the GOPs own inability to play his game, he comes back and scores. It is almost like watching the Lakers in the 80’s…(Yes, I’m still a California girl at heart).
This week, Newt won South Carolina, and we all know South Carolina is the “Holy grail” of GOP politics. They are the “soul” of the party, and boy oh boy what a soul! They picked the candidate with the most bizarre James Bond collection of strategies and conspiracies, with a touch of Tea Party crazy for good measure. Not only did they pick the person who outwardly captures his racist remarks in front of the camera regularly, they picked the guy who dresses up a whore to make her a housewife, and parade her around as if she is an iconic vision of American female morality they “so desperately love and cherish”. Well done South Carolina, well done! The churches will be filled with Hallelujah praise this morning.
John Boehner stated that the last 30 months the GOP has been focused on jobs (Fox News Sunday), but we’ve been in this ditch for longer than 30 months….sooooo, hmmm, yeah. The GOP is now trying to take credit for much of the success of Pres. Obama’s plans. They see the unemployment rate slowly draining down and they are getting caught with their pants down. I guess the Mooch and the Mistress DO symbolize their party!
