Al and Tipper Gore Call The Whole Thing Off

Politico is reporting that former Vice President Al Gore and his wife Tipper are splitting up after 40 years of marriage. They went the distance, looked at each other and decided it was better to spend the twilight seperate rather than together.

She probably had enough of his global warming hypocrisy.

dang.....no one can stay together. i figure after 40 years, you don't have much time left so suck it up and try.

Tipper Gore is the reason for the Parental Advisory labels. Maybe Al Gore wants to listen to 2 Live Crew in peace.

I think the man wants to be in peace and whoop it up before his number comes up. Hey, 40 years is a long time, considering they were probably only happy for the first 5. I don't blame him, if it's not working after 40 years, why not live out the rest of your life being happy? I do assume he wanted out, because The Tipper looks as if she's been on auto-pilot decades.

And Bill and Hillary are still together.....

Whatever it was, it's sad. Divorce. Always. Hurts. Even when necessary.

But, yes, interesting and that Bill and Hillary soldier on. Class, what can we learn from this?

Like Bill and Hitlery are a good example of a married couple, considering all his philandering. Bill paid her back by supporting her run for Senator and then Pres, though he helped screw up her bid for Pres. I'm surprised Tipper could stay married to that bore for so long.

Maybe he heard what Regina King had to say and is going for a black chick?!?

I'm not saying that they shouldn't do what is best for them, but I think after 40 years, I would suck it up too. If we could come to a gentlemen's agreement to go our separate ways and just do whatever we were going to do, I'd be reluctant to spend one penny in legal expenses or volunteer to give up my comfortable lifestyle. You've already suffered through the worst and most people at this age really aren't going to start all over again. That's just my cynical $.02.

If you have been married for 40 plus years, come on, what is the point of breaking up now? If is not adultury then what can it be, global warming?

It's never to late to do what makes you happy. If, deciding that after 40 years you'd rather not be married, don't be married. The kids are grown, gone, and have their own kids. Be free!

After 40 years they need to just live in separate houses and let that be the end of it. It's stupid to pay out all that money to divorce attorneys. Unless of course one of them has somebody else and they want to get remarried to that person.

I think it's sad.

I think Gore was having an affair with ManBearPig and Tipper got tired of it.

@ Sarah

That's what I'm saying. Unless you want to remarry, all you're doing is stuffing the attorney's pockets. You don't need a legal divorce to screw around or vacation without your spouse.

Maybe they are just tired of each other.
