I think Bill Maher is confusing all black politicians with President Camacho from Idiocracy. Also, corny stereotype of thuggish black men with guns? Lame. Maybe he's been drinking whatever Bill O'Reilly was drinking when he told Marc Lamont Hill he looked like a cocaine dealer. Of course, this is Bill Maher. He used to date Karrine Steffans. Do I really need to elaborate? I have a feeling his definition of blackness is a little skewed.

I like Maher, I enjoy his show and I don't think he's being racist here, he's just saying same thing many on the left constantly complaint about Obama, forgetting the facts its not his style to show he got the bigger d$ck. Obama has got done more under 2 years, while trying to fix the 8 yr damage Bush admin left behind under every gov't departments that make 3rd world countries look like a developed nation. The political system has been deteriorating for so longs, while the ignorant masses are arguing over the 3 Gs: God, Guns and Gay'. As if though that would fix the economy, educate their children and save their homes.

Bill Maher is a comic...and a damn good one in my opinion. Yet since he is seeking to entertain...I don't feel the need get heated over anything he says....he's looking for a laugh...or to annoy.

It's supposed to be a joke, though like a lot of this kind of humor, the underlying supposition that all Black men should be gangsta is tired and silly. I didn't take it seriously. Definitely have better things to concern myself with.
Obama is not a magic unicorn; it's childish to think he can wave a wand and fix things instantly that took centuries to break. Nonetheless, his attempts to ruffle the least amount of feathers can come off as soft. When he is being less effective than he could be it is usually because he is overly concerned with staying in everyone's good graces.
As for the ghetto pass thing, I don't believe that dating Superhead qualifies you for one. I don't know... maybe John Brown, slain Freedom Riders Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner, or the guys who founded KIPP get one, but not Superhead's ex-boyfriends. Just sayin'...

Bill Maher is like a poor man's Jon Stewart and always has been. Actually, no: that's an insult to poor men.
Bill Maher is just a smug, tedious, self-important frat boy. He gets no black pass this way.
There is no real "pass", so Bill can take his chances.
A white guy can have tons of black friends, they can all adore him, and even be down with him making racial jokes or saying nigger. But that white guy is always taking a chance that someone else is around that ain't down with it. So sure, there are white people that have built up some good will - but they ain't no pass.
Not everything that Maher says is intellectual or comedic perfection. But he does appear to be pretty damn close to race-neutral.
The sad part is I believe this is how he really thinks. I have a feeling he believes "authentic" black men are thugs and "real" black women are like the strippers he is so fond of "dating". Sad.

I actually don't have a problem with this joke, it made me giggle visualizing it. Black comedians have done similar jokes. However, I do not like Bill Maher. He is a pompous, smug, jackass who actually is not that funny without a script. Left to his own devices, he does not have good comedic timing or tone. I can't even watch his show anymore. Not a fan.
