BlackSnob Gets Mention on The Daily Beast!
And it's about Pretty, Pretty Princess Harold Ford Jr.! Something about how folks are bigots and he's a lousy politician, but the combination of being a lousy politico AND being in an interracial marriage probably won't help his case to become the next Senator from New York. Just sayin'!

It seems to me that you're looking for approval or recognition from the white media. If you want to stand out from your myopic view of life, write about any and everything, then you won't be known as an urban jounalist. Expand your view.

Not really sure what you're basing who's approval I'm looking for on. I'm not looking for anyone's approval, but I do enjoy free press in publications larger than mine and I've been on NPR, ABC News, Mediaite, Essence Online, Jezebel, The Root, Huffington Post, DailyKos, The Associated Press, The American Prospect, Sirrus/XM radio, Time Magazine and other media outlets for a myriad of reasons.
Secondly, I didn't know I was "known" as an "urban" journalist, as I write about politics, pop culture, the war in Afghanistan and other issues. And as a former newspaper reporter, I wrote about a myriad of things -- from crime to education. So, I honestly don't know where you're coming from. I didn't know writing about Carly Fioria's "Demon Sheep" ad, Sarah Palin's fight with Rahm Emanuel and serial fornicators of all races was strategically about appealing to one kind of audience only.
Lastly, the only person I write for is me -- about what I think is funny and/or interesting. So really? Where did you gather this information and come to this conclusion?

There's a Twitter account that goes by the name of HaroldFraud. The tweets have been kinda funny.
Did anyone see the Gawker where they are questioning Harold's filing of NY state taxes? I get a feeling this is going to get even uglier than it is now if he actually runs in NY. He should try another state. Does anyone know the penalty for not filing state taxes in NY?
I JUST discovered this blog and already IM HOOKED! I will many more meaningful comments to make in the future but for now I just wanted to say...doesn't this guy look like Harry Belafonte (or am I late with that observation).
Even though he is a blue dog, if he per chance one the seat, I think he would actually try to work with Obama rather than hinder his agenda. I'm not a Fan, but he's not the worst out there. (The republicans are the worse alternative) And he does favor Harry Belafontte in his younger days.

I think it was announced today that the Manhattan Democratic Committee leader is for Gillibrand , if so he should use that as an excuse to quit today, before the tax mess continues to snowball.

Looks like people are calling him a liar and a tax cheat on twitter. Even his wife is saying that Ford misrepresented her???? Where is the love on Valentines weekend? Did he tell her that she could give an interview about him? I guess anything to promote your fashions during fashion week???? I wouldn’t be seen with my lady in that yellow one, but to each his own. Make that money girl!!! I think in many cases spouses are liable for interest, penalties, fines and sentences if there is wrong doing on NY tax returns.

Wives of politicians are powerful and do influence their husbands votes. The black community can not set a precedent of supporting white women in marriages with black political leaders. We cannot afford to give the power of decisions within our community away to white women, who may not have our best interests at heart. Many black women would be more concerned about getting their husband to more aggressively garner money for black community development then trying to change their spouses vote on gay marriage. Also in many people’s opinions Mrs. Ford is plain, but now the media is trying to put her on a pedestal saying how “stunning” she is. There are many black politicians wives who are really stunning and are doing substantial work in our communities but they do not get all of this free publicity to better their careers.
Ms. Ford said in her interview the other day that she had several conversations with her husband about gay marriage. She told him about a gay step-uncle who had died of AIDS and a gay aunt, both of whom were in loving, committed relationships. “Harold never met my uncle or my aunt, but he knows how important this is to me,” Ms. Ford said.
And presto, Ford is a gay marriage supporter.
I think Harold will not run and that he's just trying to get more publicity so that he can sell his memoir "More Davids than Goliaths" that's due to come out this year. This guy is weird looking.
I was going to buy Jr.’s book. But now I dislike him after reading all this bad press, so I will probably not buy the book now. He should just drop out of the race now before things get worse.
I wonder if the Tin Man is getting paid to run. I guess the Republicans can get rid of 2 birds with 1 stone. Weaken Gillibrand, so a Republican wins and at the same time completely destroy HFJ’s political career, by making him take the fall for losing a seat to the Republican’s. After they use HFJ and he loses they will probably toss him out of all those high paying jobs, so I hope he saves his money.
