The Root 100 List for 2010 Is Out! Who Made the Cut?

Artist Kara WalkerOoo. Nick Cannon is on the list! (Mimi will be so proud!) But you know who else was on there web site The Root's annual 100 list? My not-future husband and Daily Show comic Wyatt Cenac, HotGhettoMess.com creator Jam Donaldson, "My Mic Sounds Nice" filmmaker Ava DuVernay, founder of Blogging While Brown and What About Our Daughters blog Gina McCauley and one of my favorite artists, Kara Walker. So, essentially, four people I know personally or are my friends or have met once or twice are on the list! Y'all know I don't know Nick Cannon personally, so don't ask. And I wish I knew Kara Walker. Oh ... my ... GOD, I wish!!! She's my favorite contemporary artist. So much brilliance in one woman.

That Daggone Michelle Alexander made it, now I will get a million phone calls congratulating me including my parents who don't keep track of what I do and know that even though I am also a lawyer I did not clerk for a Supreme Court Justice. But mighty proud of that sista who literally shares my name!

I <3 Kara Walker! I had the opportunity to see My Compliment at The Modern here in Fort Worth. It was phenominal!
