Pardon the Snob Interruption This Week!
Dear Snob Blog Readers,
The Mistress of Snark is busy with work this week. This is the anniversary of the week that Guantanamowas supposed to close so her all of her tweets and social networking duties this week will focus on Gitmo. (She spent three days making that video above ... sigh.)
So ... there probably won't be many Tiger Woods jokes or any lamenting over Coakley eating it in Mass.
She wants you all to know that she misses her interactions with her readers but rest assured once Gitmopalooza is over she will be back with The Snark we know love and appreciate! Until then she will be unable to post on her regular schedule. You can follow her gitmo tweets @nsaction on twitter!
Sincerely,
Friend-of-Snob and Snob Contributor,
Adeshola B.

From ONE Snob To Another....
What is so wrong with keeping enemy POWs at Gitmo?
Great video, Snob!
The problem I have with Gitmo is that the prisoners are in limbo, and some may be innocent. That's un-American. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. EVERYONE. It's sort of like how we allow the Ku Klux Clan to rally because we have that thing called freedom of speech. We say we're defending "America's Freedom" abroad--so let's live up to that. Unfortunately, b/c Bush's admin made them "enemy combatants," they missed out on a chance for due process. It's time for Holder's people to bring back real justice. This whole mess would be a lot easier if we'd tried them in a court of law; since they are tried in military tribunals, the chances of the truth coming out are slim. Also, we've lost lots of valuable evidence and leads in the years since many prisoners got there. It is a terrible mess, but Obama needs to lead on this, just as he struggles to lead on many other fronts.

i have no problem with gitmo being open an torturing terrorist. there's a lot of gray in the world, and our country does a lot of illegal stuff to make sure we're safe.
