The World According to Harold Ford Jr.'s Sidepart

It looks like the rumors are all kinds of true. Rather than being some ploy for more press attention, Harold "Pretty Pretty Princess" Ford Jr. actually wants to be the next Senator from New York. Fabulous. This will give me countless excuses to write about him. And write Pretty Pretty Princess Ford and giggle ... among other things.
For the record, I think Harold is this amazing political hack who thinks he's better than he actually is. Re: He's kinda bland. John Edwards-style. Only without the blue collor bona fides, dying wife and out-of-wedlock child. He might have John's megalomania though. And yeah, he's good looking. But that sidepart? Not working for me.
The winners in all this, though, are the people of Tennessee who appear to be free of the Ford Family Dynasty for the time being. I've heard a lot from my Tennessee readers who have had to deal with all the Ford Family drama and they seem SUPER HAPPY to just give him away to some Yankees. Take Our Fords, PLEASE! I think I've only had one brave reader pipe up and say that they *gasp* LIKE HAROLD FORD JR.! Which is amazing, because I honestly did not know those folks existed on my blog. I used to try to be more balanced in my Ford reporting, but as he started wearing my nerves being a Blue Dog and whatnot, I began to be take on the attitude of the majority of the Blacksnob reading audience who seems to think Ford should take his sidepart somewhere dark and just stay there, forever.
But here are some things I've learned about Ford since he announced he's going to annoy the people of New York with his not-an-NY-Liberal, pro-gun, anti-choice, was-against-gay-marriage-before-he-was-for-it, reverse Carpetbagger schitck.
1. That is some sidepart. I have a feeling it stays in place even when he washes his hair.
2. Who needs to visit New York City's burroughs when you can just fly over them via helicopter?
3. Gay Marriage. You can TOTALLY be against that below the Mason-Dixon then for that above it, right? Right? No one will notice! Right? Right!
4. According to the New York Times, the Pretty Princess left Tennessee because of LOVE! Aw. He just moved to NYC for the wifey. I'm sure that sweet, sweet money-making job with Merrill Lynch, the giant media market, and getting his face all up in it had NOTHING to do with wanting to be a New Yorker.
5. Oh, and this quote from Ford on guns: "I don’t own them. I do shoot them, and I shoot them at things that can’t shoot back. And will continue to do that. And by that, I want to be clear, I don’t mean children." (Emphasis MINE!)
Oh, Harold! I love you! You share my "Please don't shoot kids" stance! I don't believe in shooting kids either! See, New York? You and Ford Jr. are just going to make out all dandy.

In my opinion he has about 0% chance of a political career in NY as things stand. And those in power are just trying to get Gillibrand back in line by threatening to support HFJ.
What does not make any sense in this article is to have any type of chance in the NY primary HFJ would have to be prochoice, so his being against partial birth abortion negates him from winning the NY senate seat. But now he has compounded his problem by flip flopping on gay marriage so he can't go back to TN. Way to go HFJ, burn your political career bridges at both ends!!!

Also the helicopter statement was not good. Admitting to not spending any significant time in all the boroughs of the city that you live in is a serious problem if you want to “jump line” to be a Senator. It makes him appear not to have any real interest in helping his future constituents but just wants the office. The white wife will never fly in TN in this lifetime. Even though NY is progressive how many black politicians have you ever seen with a white wife who was voted into office while still married to a white woman. And she is not even from NY. Whatever he is smoking I want some. LOL
YOU SO CRAZY!! You made me almost choke on my water with the Pretty Princess thing. YOu are right, his part is all kinds of messed up. And I doubt he is going far at all in New York. A commenter over at Ta-Nehisi Coates' site, who seemed pretty well informed on NY politics, opined that Ford is trying to raise his visibility in NY maybe for another key office in the state b/c he knows that NY'ers won't be interested in someone to the right of Gilibrand who is reasonably conservative for a Dem, though she has moved a bit left in the Senate.

Maybe in entertainment all publicity is good publicity but not in politics. HFJ has made it harder for himself to run for a lower office with having to go on the record with all his flip- flops etc. Now his opponent in whatever new race he decides upon will see him coming.

He ‘s got his good days, he’s got his bad days. He looks weird when he is too skinny like a puppet, Howdy Doody. In the picture with Obama below, HFJ looks like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas or Mr. Burns (Simpsons). But sometimes he looks attractive especially when he has a tan and is genuinely laughing.

How is the Pretty Pretty Princess going to run in New York with the views that he has on the video above? If you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was a Republican besides if Ann Coulter likes him you know something is wrong. Democrat or Independent this guy wouldn't have a chance in NY he better stay on Wall Street because if he run for Senator, he'd haft to do some flip flopping which won't make him look good.

Harold Ford has dark circles under his eyes and he has the weirdest hair!! It's always unkempt looking. Looks like he does not brush or comb it. Basically, I think his hair is a cross between knotty and wavy and he's trying to showcase the waves but they are too tight and look like rolls. ICK!! He needs to just comb his hair and wear like an afro or cut it low like Obama -- he would look way more classy and distinguished. And let's not get started on his smile ... let's just say, I'd rather not see him smile at all. Harold Ford is not attractive.

I think HFJs actions and conflicting political stances are counterproductive to any political future in the Democratic party in NY or elsewhere. If he runs as an independent I think he is trying to be a spoiler and a Republican shill, to take votes away from Gillibrand. And he is not thinking logically about his political future.
1. Didn’t the White house already give their support to Gillibrand and ask Ford to stay out of the race?
2. Why is he going on the record with this selective flip-flopping, which is not helping him, but hurting him in any future political race?
3. I am from NY and even though the state is progressive. In my opinion most Blacks and Latinos think that those who marry whites are sell outs, so it will be difficult to find a base. Even if he changes parties and becomes a Republican, I believe that white Republicans in the U.S. have an issue with miscegenation. So who is his base?
4. I guess his base could be all of wealthy Wall Street, but I don’t think they will ever be a large enough voting block to win a State wide election. LOL I think those taxi drivers that said he should run just wanted a larger tip.LOL So who is the base that he is targeting?
I am very confused by his odd logic this reminds me of the time he tried and failed against Nancy Pelosi, for House Minority Leader. That was an embarrassing waste of time that made him look immature. Icarus strikes again.

The two things the rattle me were Ford standing next to the Confederate Flag (Yikes!) and his praising of his colleagues over at Fox (PU!).

Harold Ford makes me suspicious. Are you sure he's a Democrat and not a Republican in the making. His policies seem to be swinging in all directions but all I see is a big ego that is growing out of control. When it comes to politics we don't have time for debates about looks but for the record he's unattractive, he looks unhealthy and has a maniacal stare - only colour struck AfAm women will be fixating upon his looks.
Beware, we've seen the rise of Palin so we know how far inept can rise so use your vote wisely and just because he may try to pretend to be an "Obama" don't be taken in. Remember Marion Barry and don't be gullible not every African American has African America's best interests at heart some can be a wolf in sheep's clothing...
