New political/media watch site is launching today, The Black Retort, aka THE RETORT, edited by moi and starring a cadre of you favorite most outspoken and interesting bloggers from hither and tither including Jay Anderson of AverageBro, Christopher Chambers of Nat Turner's Revenge, Cheryl Contee of Jack & Jill Politics, Charles D. Ellison of The Ellison Report,,Gina McCauley of Michelle Obama Watch and What About Our Daughters, Vernon Mitchell Jr. of Negro Intellectual, Baratunde Thurston of Jack & Jill Politics, Lamar Tyler of Black and Married With Kids, Elon James White of This Week In Blackness, Poet, writer Bassey Ikpi and more.
The site is set up as a critical response to images of minorities in the media and is kicking off its coverage Monday with a critique of CNN's Black In America documentary series. Check out our stories, videos and podcasts in weeks to come, culminating with a liveblogging of Black In America 2 and a critical analysis of the latest installment of the new series.

Great website!
I didn't watch Black in America 1 and I am not watching this one. If you watch it even to criticize CNN is still going to get the ratings, so I will not tune in, but I will read your blog to get your take on it.

The site looks great! It's nice to see many of the bloggers I read come to one place for a blog series. Watching BIA 1 was enough for me, but cosign with PI as well, that I'm looking foward to the analysis on the new site.

Great idea you have. The tradgedy of violence against blacks, done by blacks, including those 26 kids shot to death in Chicago, needs a venue by esteemed Black writers like you.
