Rush Limbaugh: Negro Expert

From Media Matters:

LIMBAUGH: I got two more stories in the stack today about how black unemployment is through the roof. Black unemployment is terrible. The black frame of mind is terrible, they're depressed, they're down -- Obama's not doing anything for 'em. How is that hoax and change workin' for ya? They're all livid. I mean, they thought there were gonna be an exact 180-degree economic reversal and it's done nothing but get bad for everybody, but they're especially upset about it because they look at him as one of them, and now they feel abandoned. And I'm sure Tiger Woods' choice of females not helping 'em out with their attitudes there either.

Observations after the jump.

Hmmm. I don't know how to say this, but I think Rush's math is a little off. Yes, uemployment for blacks is horrendous. But the "black fram of mind" being "terrible?" That's really depends on who you're talking to. My frame of mind, for example, is all kinds of marvelous with Sparkle Ponies and shizz. And last time I checked I was/is, in fact, a Negress, but I digress. Oddly, he does the whole, "black folks must be pissed at Obama" thing, and I'll say that some might be, but considering Obama's rating in black America is something like a RIDICULOUS 90 percent plus approval "we love you and we want to have all your babies" rating, I'm going to go with, nah, son. Nah.

As for Tiger Woods' choice in women? Um. Tiger has largely dated white women since he was a cub. Any black person who expresses surprise at the high volume of white women he is cavorting with now seriously does not pay very close attention. So, in other words, I don't think most people care about that. But unlike Rush, I can't speak for EVERYONE, so I'll just say I, a Negress, doesn't give two shits that Tiger likes the company of white women. I mean, I don't take it personal. It's not like I wanted to see him break the vows of his marriage, embarass his family and ruin his life by getting it on with Superhead. That really would NOT have improved things. The shizz might have been more hilarious in some aspects because, hey, it's Superhead. BUT C'MON NOW, Rush. Taking that one poll of ya one black friend and applying it to all Negroes is not working for me.

But you're Rush. No one expected better. Personally, I expected worse. This is just lazy for you. You didn't even really make me sufficiently mad or anything. I just did a lot of shoulder shrugging. But I'm SURE you'll think of SOMETHING that will piss me off eventually. Good luck with that.

Tiger has never identified as black. He's nothing special to the black community, that I know of. As for his taste in women, I really don't care, other than they all look pretty skanky to me.

As for Obama, I'm a little disappointed, but it ain't like at this point in a McCain presidency, I'd be all exuberant either. Barack is til my boy, figuratively speaking.

Rushbo needs to stick to subjects he knows about. Like being a drug addict.

Rush watched Black in America 2 and took it as gospel.

I'm a card carrying proud Negress too. I can't say I'm 100%
in agreement with every single thing President
Obama does but i'm way more satisfied with him than what we
could've had. Plus he was handed such a mess to clean up and
that does take time to fix .

As for Tiger: I will just say Cablasians are allowed to date
whatever skanks he wants. What he does does not affect how
I live.

I let the old windbag slide because he was supposedly play acting what black liberals think when he made most of his ridiculous comments. Still, his remarks reveal subconscious sexual insecurity and racial fears.

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDavid Wise

My only problem with Obama is that he won't let Obama be Obama. We need to send him the first season of The West Wing.

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKareem

Yes, McCain would have been doing a hell of a lot better job now Rush. Hellava.

As for Tiger...whatevs. I didn't care the day after Thanksgiving and I fail to see why I should care now.

Is it me or is Jesse Jackson getting more and more difficult to understand? Is tongue lipo an option yet?

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterdkan71

why does he still have a show?

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterme and you, say what!

Is it any surprise rush twists the words of anyone who isn't a foaming rabid right mouth pisser? Limbaugh is not just taking Jackson out of context. He's rewriting Jackson's words without saying at any point that he is selectively stringing together sentences in order to fit a narrative. Is that slander? And the false narrative Limbaugh is trying to enforce is not only that Obama is losing black support because of some notion of betrayal, but that Jackson is not concerned with poverty, just race. Nothing further to see...just Rush Limbaugh being a big, fat liar.

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterallie

Hey Rush, Obama 2012! Black folks got choices now. We won't leave our own hanging at the polls and vote for the any other race. I thought we taught y'all that lesson last November. Well, looks like we will have to do a repeat.

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMe, Myself and I

Speaking for black women, we're so darn happy that Tiger didn't make any black woman the "sidepiece", only the "Becky's", not a respectable, hard working black or white woman

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLOL

I'm White and Obama still has my vote... Rush is a big fat idiot racist....

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commentercathy

This statement by Rush Limbaugh just displays more hate, I won't even say the "R" word. I just don't get how he could say things like this and not understand why people call him a racist though.

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNagrom

Last I checked, Obama has been president for less than a year. He's made a lot of changes but its going to take a while before we see if these changes help the ecomony. I'm hopeful and still supporting him.

Rush is an idiot. He's just trying to fufill his weekly quota of ignorant, racist generalizations. I don't care what color Tiger's wife is or his mistresses. I'm dissapointed that famous men continue to think they can get away with all sorts of shit just because they're famous. I'm sure lots of famous men cheat on their wives but they aren't all so clumsy about it. I'm not even going to touch the ignorant comments about Tiger not identifying as black. Those comments are as bad as the things Rush says. It's 2009 people, stop hating.

in reality black unemployment has always been high and probally always will be high. i beleive in some inner-cities it may even be close to 50%. what the recent recession did was affect people who thought they could forever live beyond their means. people of all races.

in regards to obama, i believe hillary would have been a better choice. i understand the symbolism that obama brings to the white house. but in these times people need a whole lot more than a symbol. having grown up around detroit and lived in both atlanta and new orleans i've seen how easy it is to delegitimize black leadership. especially black male leadership. i haven't looked at the numbers but i have heard that even if every black person stays home on election day obama stiil wins. and for all intents and purposes obama really was elected by bush jr. i support obama and what he is trying to do but his political destiny might be in the hands of forces that are out of his control.

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterbruthaman1

even for him, this was a stretch, and I can usually find a roller coaster ride of an explanation that would fit together. this one, nope.

the whole ' Black folks are pissed at Obama', when his approval rating is 91% with Black folk.

of course, show me a Democrat that has gone below 85% in the modern era with Black folk, and you might have a discussion on your hands.

Bad times are nothing new for Black folk...if that was the measuring stick for Presidential popularity, then what President, Dem or GOP, would be higher than 40%?

as for the whole Tiger thing; Black folk are amused, not hurt. We washed our hands of Tiger the moment he came up with 'Cablinasian'.

December 10, 2009 | Registered Commenterrikyrah

as far as tiger woods goes he can consider himself cablasian if that how he feels. but he was very naive if he thought the power structure that proped him up and is now trying to distance themselves from him thought he was anything other than a black man. fuzzy zoeller said as long as he doesn't bring the collard greens and fried chicken to the masters dinner after he won the first time. i didn't remeber him telling tiger not to bring egg rolls or wonton soup.

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterbruthaman1

Oh Rush! He should have a go at stand-up, he really should

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterOlivia

I couldn't care less about the women Tiger Woods date. Look where it got him. He made his bed...lay in it!

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSouthernGirl2

in response to LOL...would you be offended if I refered to black women as "Shaniquas" and black men as "Tyrones"?

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered Commenteranon

Me, Myself and I gives us the jewel, "We won't leave our own hanging at the polls and vote for the any other race. I thought we taught y'all that lesson last November. Well, looks like we will have to do a repeat."

Damn, Me, Myself and I, you are just as racist as that fat drug addict.

Obama is doing the right thing. He as treating black America's problems as America's problems, not separate problems. As Barrack said, the best thing he can do for blacks, whites and any other Americans is to get the economy strong again so there are jobs.

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered Commentertarheelio

There's a lot to be fixed in this country and any person, black, white, or pink who expected Obama to save them may want to do a reality check.

I agree, Rush is slipping. I'm not the least bit phased by his comments.

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBrandi

Someone needs to call into his talk show and explain to him that black people in general, Obama, and Tiger don't give a flying fig what he thinks! Why even bring up this hater on your blog?

December 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNita

I think Rush is a closeted Black man...or he has a burning desire to be one.

Anyway, why does this arrogant white man think he knows the minds of all black people? I don't remember getting my Rush poll of the day, not does any other Black person I know.

Tiger is a great golfer, which has nothing to do with his character as a man. Frankly, I'm glad he got his wake up call, maybe it will help him develop some.

I didn't vote for Obama to be saved, that's up to Jesus. I voted for him because he was qualified, oh yeah, didn't hurt that he was Black. I don't think anyone walking into this Bush-whacked mess could do any better - not even Ms. Hilary. Expecting an overnight miracle is unsound. But then again, we always have to walk the waters, run faster, jump higher, dance smoother than they. BTW - was a woman, so would Ms. Hilary. White boys got it like that!

December 11, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterblkcalgirl

I never gave a cared about Tiger calling himself Cablinasian. It affected me in no way. Multi-racial people can call themselves whatever they want. It means nothing to me. I figured he was being hyper-technical about his background. I like watching him play and that's that.
