Not true - I just read the article from the Post and your statement is incorrect. I do see how it could be misinterpreted from an uniformed person and I had to go straight to the source to see for myself. But the actual quote is as follows: Public Enemy has earned notoriety with more than 20 years of politically charged music about fighting the power, challenging racism and declaring that 911 was a joke.
The writer could have been more clear and described it as "the emergency telephone system 911 was a joke."
That is because the original article has been edited as a result of the correction. That correction is on the Washington Post website. Here's the link:
