Get Out Your Resumes: CNN Looking For On-Air Talent!
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 9:31AM
According to my homies at Mediaite:
In Brian Stelter’s New York Times write-up about the Sanchez show, he hints at something that hasn’t been previously reported:
Several CNN employees have said in recent weeks that they expect other changes to the network’s programming, given its ratings woes. CNN executives have put feelers out to talent agents recently in an apparent effort to scope out new hosts, but none have been hired.
Although none have been hired, the idea that the network is out there looking to hire new talent is notable, if not surprising. There are already a few late afternoon/pre-prime time changes on the way – Sanchez will host Rick’s List from 3-5pmET, with The Situation Room now airing from 5-7pmET. Then John King will anchor his yet-unnamed show at 7pmET.
But what else? Unlike MSNBC, which is making changes in the new year during daytime hours, CNN’s ratings troubles are more in prime time and less during the day. Adding a daytime host – let’s say to host a 2pmET show to lead into Sanchez’, doesn’t hit the area CNN most needs to improve.
I'd dust off the old video reel if it weren't for the fact that it hasn't been updated since college. Nobody wants to see a 21-year-old me wink at a camera like an idiot. Also I will try not to comment on Rick Sanchez getting his own show as long-time readers already know how I feel about the man's reporting style. But I will throw in my obligatory plug for TJ Holmes. More TJ, please! All the time! All day! Everyday! Thank you.

I haven't Google Stalked the Teege in a minute because I've been so busy with the new job and whatnot I haven't been more on the ball in my TJ photo collecting. To the hardcore TJ fans I sincerely apologize. Please accept these photos as an apology.

Merry Christmas, TJ-A-holics! (See more pictures of TJ here in the gallery)

CNN....Wink!
YOU SHOULD DO IT. THEN YOU CAN STALK TJ AND DON LEMON IN REAL LIFE.
LOL
I knew it was a matter of time that you fell off the TJ wagon again, Danielle. I know the holidays are tough on the TJ-aholics. I guess this will be another two-day bender. Oh, geez. Hee, hee
TJ needs a haircut. I've noticed a mini afro lately. Still cute, but I prefer him with shorter hair.
TV, or at least CNN, seems to be in bad shape when it comes to young male journalists. TJ Holmes is one of the worst on-air talents I've ever heard. He doesn't know what he's talking about most ot the time, doesn't know how to deliver it, makes numerous factual mistakes, can't modulate his voice, and at times totally forgets what he is talking about. Having a baritone voice and being reasonably good looking simply aren't enough. Rick Sanchez is pathetic. Sounds like a circus barker trying to sensationalize everything, even if it means saying things that are totally false and easily checked. Ed Henry is manipulated by whichever newscaster is interviewing him. Don Lemon at least tries to be professional. Anderson Cooper is likeable and tries. John King is the best.
Snob and Elliemae I can't believe you two don't like Rick Sanchez. He's one of my favorites on CNN i like his style of telling the news he gets to the point and when he's doing the news it's at an fast pace. I'm happy he is getting a longer show. I'm not a big fan of Don Lemon he's talented but i'd rather have Rick Sanchez on the weekend. I think Rick would be a good pick for primetime as well. I'm also a fan of Richard Lui and Christy Paul she's on HLN.
I watch TJ and Betty sometimes on weekends they have good chemistry. We should contact CNN and have TJ interveiw you for their morning segment Snob. I can see you now all giggly and blushing. My sister have a crush on the weatherman name Bob that's on HLN. She loves her some Bob.
they will never be at the highest in ratings again - they have2 change the format-
pple r not tuning in for news anymore - they need interaction ur own opinion on the issues - that's why fox n msnbc is doing so well
CNN isn't what it used to be - with mediocrity like that rick sanchez no wonder they are doomed to fail!
John King and Candy Crowley are the worst.
CNN hasn't been worth watching since Lynne Russell left..
