I just heard a news story about a noteable athlete getting an Obama tattoo... there is something very wrong with all of this. I love Obama... and not sure I really love him I love what he stands for (so far). I don't know, I guess people have tattoos of other historical figures. However, usually people tattoo dead people on their skin, people who's lives have run their course. Suppose Obama somehow destroys the world, suppose he disgraces himself while in office.... yeah I'm gonna leave the nudity and tattooing alone... these folks are insane. I am going to have to get a henna tattoo if I get stupid enough to follow suit.

I remember Angela Bassett making a profound commentary on Halle Berry's 'exposure' in the movie Monster's Ball. She implied that of course she (Halle) won an award for it but 'other things were more important' and said "its about class, darling." I think that part of the mystique of Black beauty is its self-possesion and discretion. (I know that BET, most every black film of the 90's and gangsta 'ho' videos mock what I say but I am referring to mainstream.) We lead cultural expression in this country and nobody is happier than a WASP to see us lose dignity and decorum while having our moment on the world's stage.

There's change that we believe in and then there's change we just don't.

I love America.

I don't understand all why this is so "insane", "dumb", or "ignorant"? Number one these are the models... I'm sure they didn't decide the design or its application so stop throwing darts in there direction. There just at work... second i understand this is America and we are embarrassingly prude but its just breasts! Its not full on nudity, or sex or anything even mildly offensive... just a bunch of topless models who have decided to be body painted... its art... kinda.... sure its crude and unimpressive but its art meant to celebrate the country.... i'm not saying don't critique it negatively of course but why resort to calling the girls hoes... that demeaning attitude is far more ignorant, dumb and insane than this admittedly poor attempt at art...

And when I was in High school I'da been fallin' all over my nerdy self to get close enough to ask one of them out!
Especially the one in the shorts. I'd died an' fallin' in it if she said "Yes"!
Honesty isn't always pretty is it?
