Hot Topics > If the Tea Party isn't a racist organization, then what are they? **Serious Replies Only
I get frustrated when I hear people with different opinions called names. Tea Partyers are people who want to see our country spend less, intrude less, and but out of our personal freedoms. Desiring a different approach to problems does not make White members racists or Black members Uncle Toms. It simply means that they think out of the mainstream. Isn't that part of what makes America great?

see i have no problem with this --> "people who want to see our country spend less, intrude less, and but out of our personal freedoms."
this is a good thing, but what i don't respect is intolerance of people that are different. the tea party can't have it both ways. its almost as if they want change in the government for only the people who they see as deserving, not for all.
and anyone else who has a problem with it, can leave.

The Tea-party that I have seen are older, poor, rural Whites who are being funded through the church. They are not accustom to power and have a long history of isolation. They understand it is hard for their children to survive, even if they managed to get through the Great Depression by farming. The country is unsympathetic to their needs and often mocks their behavior and manners. They need jobs and a sense of stability. They are most impacted by Mexican immigration and drug cartels stomping right through the most impoverished parts of the country.
While I don't agree with their bigotry, I do believe stabilizing the community is a good thing. All of America needs jobs right now. Instead of pointing out how isolated and manipulated this community is, I think it would be more beneficial to emphasize how their needs are being addressed. They are grateful when they are understood. It does make bigots funding the rant stand out.
For the last 30 years these jerks have been moving into little communities with a wad of cash. Ask any minister where their from and you'll get a picture of this uprising. Talk to any of the historical community and you'll find a much more fair view of the community and their needs.

i read this article and was "floored". how can anyone deny that this party is racially motivated? i have had conversations with tea party members and they swear they are not a racist organization, then proceeded to "call me out" for saying they were. are they serious?
